Getting started
What is Run This?
Run This is a race-registration and social platform for runners, race directors, and the running community.
At its core, Run This does two things. It's a place where race directors can list their event, take registrations, communicate with runners, and run race-day check-in. And it's a place where athletes can discover races, register, save the ones they want to do later, build a public race history, and follow their friends.
You only need one account to do all of this. There is no separate "athlete" or "director" sign-up. If you only ever run races, you'll never see the director tools. The day you decide to host one, they appear in your sidebar.
Run This lives on the web at runthis.run and in the Run This app for iPhone and Android — one account, same races, same profile everywhere.
What Run This isn't
- A training app. Run This won't track your weekly mileage or design a workout plan.
- A GPS watch app. We don't record activity data from your runs.
- A fitness social network like Strava — though we share a few ideas (followers, comments, profiles), Run This is centered on events, not workouts.
Three ways people get started
Most people land on Run This for one of three reasons. Whichever one fits, here's where to go next.
- You want to find a race to run. Finding races walks through the discovery page and the filters.
- You want to host a race. Creating an event covers the create-event flow start to finish.
- You time races for a living. Listing your timer company shows how to set up your company profile so directors can find you.
Run This ships fast
The platform grows week to week, and these docs grow with it. If a page mentions something you can't find — or you find something the docs don't cover — the contact page goes straight to the team. When a page describes a feature that's only partially built, it says so up top.
