Finding races
The Run This homepage is your race discovery page. Run This-hosted events sit next to races from other platforms — all in one searchable list.
Go to runthis.run to see every race we know about. By default the list shows all upcoming races. Use the filters to narrow it down — and because your filters are saved in the page's web address, you can bookmark or share a filtered view (like "marathons within 50 miles of your city") and it reopens exactly as you left it.
The filters
On a phone, tap Filters to open them; on a wider screen they sit at the top of the page. Each active filter shows as a chip above the results — tap its ✕ to remove just that one, or Clear all to reset.
- Search by name
- Type any part of a race name to find it directly.
- Location
- Type a ZIP code and choose a radius (10–250 miles) to see races near it.
- Distance
- Tap the quick chips (Mile, 5K, 10K, Half, Marathon, Ultra) to pick one or more — or use the custom mile range. Leave one box blank for open-ended (e.g. a 20-mile minimum with no maximum, or everything under a 10K).
- Date
- Set a custom From/To range, or tap a quick chip (This weekend, Next 30 days, Next 90 days, Anytime). Past races appear automatically when the From date is in the past — handy for finding results or photos.
- Activity type
- Multi-select chips — running, trail, ultra, triathlon, walk, bike, and more. Tap “More types” for the full list.
- Terrain
- Quick Road / Trail / Track filter.
- Registration
- “Open only” hides races whose registration has closed or already happened.
- Sort
- Soonest (by date), Nearest (when you've set a location), or Popular (most bookmarked).
Run This events vs. outside events
Two kinds of races show up in the list. Run This events are hosted directly on the platform — you can register, comment, and ask questions right here. Outside events are races we know about from other platforms (currently RunSignup). Run This pins its own events to the top within each section so they're easy to spot, but every race is in the same list.
- Run This events have a green "Register" button that opens the registration flow here.
- Outside events have a button that opens the registration site where the race actually lives (RunSignup, etc.).
- Both kinds can be bookmarked, added to your calendar, and earn you trophies. Outside events use the Run This brand mark as their trophy art unless we have a custom icon.
Adding a race we don't know about
Paste a link to auto-fill
Adding a race is fast: on the "Add a race" page, paste the link to its existing page — a RunSignup or RaceRoster listing, or the race's own website — and click Auto-fill. Run This reads the page and prefills the name, date, time, location, distances, and cover image for you. Review what it found (double-check the date and location), edit anything that's off, then save. Nothing is published until you add it yourself.
Featured events
A small star icon next to an event name means it's a featured race — Run This highlights a handful of standout events each season. Featured events sort to the top within the Run This group.
