Answers for directors

How much does Run This cost?
A flat 5% + $1 per registration, card processing included. It is added at checkout and paid by the registrant, so your event nets exactly the price you set. Free events are completely free, donations cost less, and there are no setup, monthly, or platform fees. See full pricing →
How do payouts work?
Run This never holds your money. Payments route through Stripe straight into your event's own payout account and reach your bank once they finish settling, typically a couple of business days. You pick the method per event: a simple bank payout, where you complete one secure identity and bank form and never leave Run This, or connect your organization's own Stripe account if you'd rather have that relationship directly. One payout account can back every race you put on.
Who can see the money side of my event?
Only the event's payments manager, plus Run This admins. Co-directors can build the event, manage registrations, and run race day without ever seeing your payout setup or banking details. You can hand the payments manager role to another director whenever you need to.
Is there really a native app?
Yes, on iOS and Android, free on the Apple App Store and Google Play, and it is a real app rather than a race-day utility. Directors manage their race from it. Runners register, follow friends, chat, get push notifications, and watch results land on their profile, all year, between races. That is the piece no other registration platform gives your athletes.
Can I keep my timing company?
Absolutely. Invite your timer to the event for direct access, or let them pull registrations, bibs, teams, and check-in status live from our Timer API, so there are no last-minute spreadsheet exports.
Do you support USAT-sanctioned races?
Yes. Registrants confirm or purchase their USAT membership right inside the registration flow, so you are not chasing membership numbers by email the week of your race.
What about refunds and people switching distances?
Both are handled in your dashboard. Refund any amount up to what a registrant paid, with or without releasing their spot, or cancel a registration without refunding. If you allow transfers, athletes move themselves between distances, paying any price difference plus whatever transfer fee you set.
Can I show my course?
Yes. Course Studio is built in. Draw your route and it snaps to real roads and trails, or import a GPX file. It calculates distance and elevation, marks aid stations and mile markers, plays a fly-through preview of the course, and embeds on your own website.
I'm on another platform. Can I switch?
Yes. We move your event and bring your past participants and years of history with you, usually in a weekend, so you are not starting from scratch.
What do I need on race morning?
A phone and a connection. Check athletes in by scanning their QR pass or searching by name, see each person's giveaway and shirt size, assign bibs on the spot, and add walk-ups yourself. Your timing company sees every check-in as it happens.
Is there a contract or commitment?
