Director notifications

What you get notified about

• New registrations — a push every time someone signs up. On by default for every director; turn it off per event if a busy race would buzz your phone all day.
• Volunteer signups — a push whenever someone signs up to help, naming the role they took when there's one clear role. Also on by default, and only sent to the event's directors (never to the volunteer themselves).
• Event activity — posts on your event. You choose a level: Everything (announcements plus every community-wall post), Announcements only (just what you and your co-directors post — the default), or Nothing.
• Registration milestones — a celebration each time your registration count passes a milestone (10, 25, 50, 100, 250, 500, 1,000…). This one is an event-wide setting for all directors: the Celebrate registration milestones toggle in the sub-event global options on your Edit event page, on by default.
• Messages from athletes — when someone uses the "Contact the director" form on your event page, the lead director gets an email and an in-app notification. See the event wall & announcements.

Where the switches live

In your event's dashboard, click the bell in the sidebar footer. The push-notifications dialog holds the new-registration switch, the volunteer-signup switch, and the event-activity level. Everything in it is per event and per person — muting an event only mutes it for you, and your co-directors keep their own settings. Changes save the moment you flip them.

Getting push onto your devices

The switches decide what Run This sends; your browser or phone still has to be able to receive it. Two nudges help with that:

• On the web dashboard — if the browser you're in can't receive push, a banner appears at the top of every director page: "You won't get registration alerts in this browser," with an Enable notifications button that fires the browser's permission prompt. If you've previously blocked notifications, the banner points you at your browser's site settings instead. Not now hides it for the session.
• In the Run This app — the director dashboard shows its own enable-notifications banner when the app doesn't have push permission yet.

The dashboard dialog also links to the Run This app on both app stores — race-day alerts land fastest on a phone.
