Privacy Policy

This Policy explains what information Run This collects, how we use and share it, how long we keep it, and the privacy choices and account controls available to you.
About This Policy
Run This, LLC ("Run This," "us," "we," or "our") operates runthis.run and a mobile application and other cloud-based services we may make available for your use (collectively, the "Site"). This Privacy Policy informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of information we receive from users of the Site. Your use of the Site constitutes your acknowledgement of, and consent to, this Privacy Policy.
Run This is more than a social platform: it is also a registration and payment platform for real-world endurance events. That dual nature matters throughout this Policy — some information you give us is account and profile data you control, and some is a transaction record created when you register for an event, which we and the event organizers retain for business, legal, tax, and safety reasons as described below.
Our Commitment to Privacy
Thank you for using Run This. Your privacy is important to us, and we prefer a minimalistic approach to collecting information from you. We do not store your full payment card numbers on our servers, we do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with anyone other than: (a) the sponsoring organization (sometimes called the Event Owner) and the Event Director (collectively, the “Event Organization” or “Race Director”) for the Events you register for, RSVP to, or donate to through Run This; (b) the service providers who help us operate the Site, as described in “Sharing Your Information With Third Parties”; and (c) as otherwise expressly described in this Privacy Policy.
We do not control, and are not responsible for, the policies and practices of the Event Organization, or the conduct of other users or participants to whom the Event Organization gives access to our Site, with respect to their handling of your information and content. The Event Organization independently determines how it uses the registration information you provide to it. For information about an Event Organization’s practices and policies, please contact them directly.
The Information We Collect
When you create an account on Run This, we collect information about you, which may include: your name, username, city/state, email address, date of birth (used for event age categories), and gender (also used for event categories). You may optionally add a profile photo, a header image, and a short bio. Together we call this your “Profile Information.”
If you choose to sign in with Google, Google shares your name, email address, profile picture, and a Google account identifier with us. We ask Google only for this basic profile information; we do not request access to your Google contacts, calendar, email messages, files, or anything else in your Google account. We use this information to create your Run This account and sign you in: your name pre-fills your profile (you can change it), your email address becomes your account email and is used as described in this Policy, the identifier lets us confirm it is you each time you sign in, and if you have not added your own profile photo, we may show your Google profile picture as your picture on Run This. We store this information with your account and treat it like the rest of your account information described in this Policy: we do not sell it, and we do not send it to advertising providers. You can remove Run This’s access at any time in your Google Account settings, and if you delete your Run This account, this information is removed as described in “Data Retention and Account Deletion.”
When you register for an event, complete a profile for participation, or use certain features, we may also collect additional information such as your mailing address, phone number, emergency contact, USA Triathlon (or similar) membership number, answers to organizer-defined registration questions, waiver acknowledgements, and giveaway or merchandise selections. Some of this information is sensitive, so we store it in a protected area of your account that is readable only by you (and is copied into your event registrations as described below) rather than on your public profile.
If you use a contact form on the Site — for example, the “contact the event director” form on an event page — we collect the name, email address, and message you submit. You do not need an account to use these forms. We deliver contact-the-director messages to the event’s lead organizer (so they can reply to you directly) and retain a copy as an audit record so we can operate the feature, investigate abuse, and resolve disputes. If you ask Run This for help with your race through our race services form, we also collect your phone number (if you give it), your organization, details about your event, and any budget range you share, and we use them only to reply to you about that request.
Information Event Organizations provide about past participants. An Event Organization that ran its race on another registration platform before joining Run This may bring that race’s history with it, so its past years appear alongside the years it runs here. Those records come from the organization’s own participant list and typically include a participant’s name and email address, and may include date of birth, gender, mailing address, phone number, bib number, shirt or merchandise selection, answers to that race’s registration questions, and what was paid. We did not collect this information from you directly; the Event Organization collected it when you registered for its race, and it remains that organization’s participant record. If the email address on such a record matches a Run This account, we link the record to that account so your email preferences are applied to it — the record does not appear among your own registrations on the Site. To have your information removed from a race’s participant history, contact that Event Organization or contact us and we will help.
We use your Profile Information to operate the Site, interact with you, provide support, and help create a safe community for our users. You can view, update, or correct your information at any time from your profile, and you can delete your account as described in “Data Retention and Account Deletion.”
Information We Automatically Collect
Like many site operators, we collect information that your browser or device sends whenever you use the Site (“Log Data”). Log Data may include your device’s Internet (“IP”) address, browser type and version, the pages of our Site that you visit, the time and date of your visit, time spent on those pages, device type, operating system, approximate location, and device identifiers. We use Log Data to manage, operate, secure, and improve the Site, and we do not share it except as described in this Privacy Policy.
We use third-party analytics providers, and we may develop our own tools, to collect, monitor, and analyze usage. Some of this measurement happens in your browser and some is reported from our servers using a pseudonymous identifier, so our statistics stay accurate. We also use an error-monitoring service that records diagnostic information — which can include IP address, device and browser details, and the technical context of an error — so we can detect and fix problems. These services help us operate and improve the Site and do not receive your name.
Our own measurement tools also record a few things directly: the race searches people run on Run This and how many results they found (stored without any account or device identifier), the approximate time you were last signed in, what you were doing when you created your account (for example, saving a race or registering for one, and which race), and the source that brought you to Run This at that moment. We use these to understand what people are looking for and how they find us, and never to make decisions about you individually.
Advertising
We use advertising and measurement tools from Meta Platforms, Inc. (the Meta Pixel) on our website, in the Run This mobile app, and inside the calendar and course-map widgets that event organizers embed on their own websites, to understand how people find and use Run This and to deliver relevant advertisements across Facebook, Instagram, and other Meta services. These tools collect information such as the pages and events you view, actions you take (for example, creating an account, searching, starting a checkout, or completing a registration or donation), the kinds of races you look at, your IP address, device and browser characteristics, and an advertising identifier stored in your browser. We use this to measure how our advertising performs and to build audiences for future advertising.
We deliberately limit what these tools receive. We do not send your name, email address, date of birth, or gender to our advertising providers, and the automatic form-field matching that would otherwise collect them from our registration forms is switched off. What leaves our site describes the races you looked at, not who you are.
In the mobile app, this is optional and off unless you allow it. On iOS, we ask for your permission first through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt, and these advertising tools stay switched off unless you allow tracking; on Android you can opt out through your device's ads settings. The app works exactly the same either way. This does not affect our own first-party analytics, which we use to understand how Run This is used and which is not used for advertising.
Meta may use this information in accordance with its own privacy policy, which you can review at https://www.facebook.com/privacy/policy. Unlike the service providers described in “Sharing Your Information With Third Parties,” Meta is not limited to acting only on our instructions and may also use this information for its own purposes under its terms. You can opt out of Meta’s use of your data for advertising by adjusting your ad preferences at https://www.facebook.com/adpreferences/ad_settings, or through industry tools such as the Digital Advertising Alliance’s consumer choice page.
Some state privacy laws treat the use of advertising cookies and pixels as a “sale” or “sharing” of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, even where no money changes hands and no directly identifying information is sent. We do not sell your personal information in the ordinary sense of that phrase, and we never provide your name, email address, date of birth, or gender to an advertiser. If you live somewhere that gives you the right to opt out of this kind of advertising, you can do so through the Meta ad settings linked above, or by contacting us at info@runthis.run and asking us to stop, and we will honor the request.
Payments
Payments for registrations, donations, and related purchases are handled by a PCI-compliant third-party payment processor. When you pay, your card details are collected and stored by that processor under its own security and privacy practices; we do not store your full card number on our servers. We receive and retain transaction records — such as amounts, dates, the items purchased, fees, and refund history — which we use to operate the Site, pay event organizers, handle refunds and disputes, prevent fraud, and meet our legal and tax obligations.
Some Event Organizations sell registrations through their own online store instead of through Run This checkout. When you register for one of those Events, we hand that store the items in your cart, a reference code that carries no personal information about you and simply lets us match the finished order back to your registration, and your IP address, which the store's platform uses to protect its checkout from abuse. You then enter your name, contact details, and payment information directly into that store, under its own privacy terms and those of the e-commerce platform hosting it; we never see or store your card details. When the payment completes, the store sends us the order, including the email address you used, so that we can finish your registration and bill the Event Organization our per-registration fee.
For the Event Organizations themselves: when an organization connects its own store to Run This, we also process information about that store — its web address, the credentials its e-commerce platform issues us so the connection works, records of which Events are sold through it, and the order records described above. We use order information from a connected store only to complete or refund the registrations it pays for and to calculate our per-registration fee; we never use it to market to the organization's customers, and we never sell it. Where the store's platform supports it, our per-registration fee is billed through that platform's own billing, so the organization pays it on its regular platform invoice rather than by giving us a card.
Run This facilitates the flow of funds between you and the Event Organization. Transaction records are business and financial records and are retained as described in “Data Retention and Account Deletion,” even if you later delete your account.
Communications and Marketing
We send two kinds of messages. Transactional and service messages — such as registration confirmations, receipts, account and security notices, refund or event-change notices, notices that we have paused or removed something you organize, and important service announcements — are part of providing the Service and are sent to you as needed. For a donation, this includes a receipt sent to the email address you provide; when the receiving organization's 501(c)(3) status has been verified, that receipt includes tax-deductibility information (the organization's legal name, EIN, and a standard acknowledgment). When an Event Organization designates a charity partner to receive donations made through its event, the contact that charity designates also receives transactional messages from us: an invitation to manage the charity's page on Run This and notices about donations the charity has received or that have been refunded.
Marketing and event-relationship messages — such as reminders, invitations to future events from Event Organizations you have registered with or followed, abandoned-registration reminders, and occasional updates from Run This — are subject to your preferences. An Event Organization may also message people who took part in its past years, including years it ran on another registration platform before joining Run This (see “Information Event Organizations provide about past participants”); the basis for those messages is your registration with that organization, not with Run This. Race companies and running clubs that host events on Run This may likewise send updates about all of their events to everyone who has registered for (or RSVP'd to) any of their events; you can unsubscribe from a specific race company in the preference center. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can manage your email preferences (by category and by event) from your account’s notification settings or the preference center linked in our emails — an unsubscribe applies to these messages whether or not you have a Run This account. We use third-party email-delivery providers to send these messages.
If you opt in, we send push notifications through a third-party push provider, for example, when someone follows you, comments on your content, an event you’re connected to posts an update, or someone posts in a club or community you belong to. You choose how much you hear from each club and community on its page, and you can disable push notifications at any time in your device settings or your Run This notification preferences.
Event Organizations may contact participants about the Events you have registered for or shown interest in. We are not responsible for an Event Organization’s own messaging practices; contact the Event Organization directly with questions about their communications.
Race Documents and Sheets
If you direct an event on Run This, you and the event’s other directors can keep documents and spreadsheets (“sheets”) for it in the event’s Documents area, such as race plans, checklists, budgets and orders. We store what you write, the photos you add to a document, and who last changed each item and when. When you open a Word, Excel or CSV file there, your browser reads it on your device and turns it into a Run This document or sheet: we store the result and the photos in it, not the file itself. When you download a document as a Word or PDF file, or a sheet as an Excel or CSV file, the file is made on your device.
You can also upload files to an event’s Documents area, such as PDFs, photos and spreadsheets, and attach files inside a document. We store each file as you uploaded it, with its name, size and type, and who uploaded it and when. Uploaded files are private to the event’s directors in the same way documents are. Each event has 1 GB of storage for its uploaded files and the photos and files inside its documents, and a single file can be up to 25 MB. Videos can’t be uploaded.
Documents and sheets are private to the event’s directors, unless the director who owns one turns on a share link (see below). They are never shown on public pages, and a document’s photos are stored privately and shown only to those directors and to people using that document’s share link. Run This’s own team tools can’t open them; our team looks at stored documents only when you ask us for help, to keep the service secure and working, or when the law requires it.
While you have a document or sheet open, the other directors who can see it see that you’re there: your name, your profile photo, whether you’re changing it, and where your cursor or selected cells are. We keep a small note of this only while the page is open; it’s removed when you leave, or soon after if your device closes without saying so. Changes you make reach the other directors who have it open within a moment.
The director who owns a document or sheet can turn on a share link, so anyone with the link can view it or, for an event’s documents, view it and comment, without a Run This account. The link is long and random, and the owner can turn it off or replace it at any time; the old link stops working right away. People using a share link see the document as it changes, the names and profile photos of the directors who have it open, and, with a comment link, the comments on it. In a shared document or sheet, they also see any live race numbers and tables the directors put in it (for example a registration count, a money total or registrations by distance), kept current. Run This works those out on its own servers and sends only the finished numbers, never the registrations, names or payments behind them. To let them in, we give their browser an anonymous guest sign-in that opens only that one document or sheet and nothing else on Run This. We don’t ask for their name, email or anything else; while they have it open, the directors see them as an animal (like “Tempo Tortoise”), never by name. If they comment, the comment keeps the name they type, and it is kept with the document like any other comment.
The director who makes a document or sheet can keep it to some of the event’s directors, lock it so the others can only read it, or give it to another director. If they stop directing the event, or delete their account, what they made goes to the event’s lead director.
If you direct an event that takes registrations through Run This, you also have My files: a private space for your own documents, sheets and files that only you can open, with 1 GB of storage. You can move a document, sheet or file between an event’s Documents area and My files, or from one event you direct to another. Moving it changes who can open it, and we tell you how before you confirm; its earlier versions, comments, photos and files move with it. You can also make a copy of one in any of those places: the copy is yours, with its own photos and files, and the original’s comments and earlier versions stay with the original. If you stop directing such an event, you keep what is in My files and can open, download and delete it, but you can’t add to it.
Directors can comment on a race’s documents, and so can people using a comment link. A comment shows your name and what you wrote to the directors who can see the document. When a director picks you in a comment, we email you what they wrote and a link to the document.
A document or sheet can show your event’s live numbers, such as registrations, spots left, shirt sizes, giveaways, volunteers, check-ins and money. These come from the same records your event’s directors already see in the director dashboard, and they update as those records change.
If you save a document or a sheet as a template, it is kept on your own account so you can start new ones from it at any of your events. Only you can see your templates. A sheet template never keeps an event’s live numbers. A document template leaves out the document’s photos and attached files, and the event’s name is taken out of it so it doesn’t appear at another event.
We also keep earlier versions of each document and sheet, so the event’s directors can see who changed what and when, and put an earlier version back. Every version from the last 30 days is kept; older ones are thinned to the last version of each day, and at most 100 are kept for each document or sheet. We also remember which version of each one you last opened, so we can tell you when another director has changed it since.
Deleting a document, sheet or file moves it to the event’s Recently deleted list, where the event’s directors can restore it for 30 days. After 30 days it is permanently deleted, along with its earlier versions, comments, photos and files. The director who owns an item can permanently delete it from that list sooner. A photo or file that is taken out of a document is permanently deleted 30 days later, once no earlier version of the document still shows it.
Community Safety and Content Moderation
We want Run This to be safe and welcoming. There is no tolerance for objectionable content (including content that is harassing, threatening, hateful, sexually explicit, illegal, or otherwise abusive) or for abusive users. By using the Site you agree not to post such content or engage in such behavior.
We provide tools to help: you can block another user, which hides each of you from the other and prevents them from interacting with you and your content; and you can report content, users, event listings, clubs, and communities to us for review. We review reports and may remove content, hide or restrict content, suspend or terminate accounts, and take other action we consider appropriate. We aim to act on reports of objectionable content promptly. Club owners, admins, and moderators can also remove messages in their club’s chats; a removed message’s content is deleted and it shows that a moderator removed it.
These tools also apply to the things people list on Run This, not only to posts and messages. Where an event listing, club, or community appears to be fake, misleading, duplicated, or otherwise contrary to our guidelines, we may remove it from search and discovery, stop it accepting registrations, or take its public page down. When we pause or remove something in this way we notify the organizer or owner — by email and in their Run This dashboard — tell them the category of reason for the decision, and give them a way to write back; a person reviews what they send. This kind of review does not delete registrations, member lists, or payment records, and the organizer keeps access to their dashboard.
To operate these safety tools and meet our legal obligations, we retain certain records of reports, blocks, and moderation actions — including, where relevant, the original content that was removed, the reason our staff recorded, any internal notes about the decision, and any response the organizer or owner sends us — so we can review decisions, address repeat behavior, and respond to legal requests. These safety and moderation records may be retained even after the underlying content, listing, or account is removed.
Maps and Location
We use third-party mapping and geocoding services to display event locations, build and show course maps, and help with address entry. When you use these features, limited location and address information may be processed by the mapping provider under its own privacy practices. We do not track your precise device location in the background.
When you set a location while browsing races — for example, by entering a ZIP code or choosing to share your device location in our event-discovery tools — we save the resulting city and state to your profile so we can show you races near you, and we keep the ZIP code and approximate coordinates in the protected, owner-only area of your account. We do not derive or store your street address this way. You can change or remove this location at any time in your settings.
The Way We Use Information
We use return email addresses to answer the emails we receive. In addition to the other uses described in this Policy, we may use the information we collect to:
• respond to your questions and requests, and provide customer support; • operate the Site and provide our Services to administer and facilitate your Event (for example, registration, payments, results, check-in, and event information); • process payments, payouts, refunds, and donations, and maintain financial and tax records; • send transactional messages, and — consistent with your preferences — marketing and event-relationship messages; • operate social, community, and safety features, including content moderation, blocking, and reporting; • detect, investigate, and prevent activity that may violate our policies or be illegal, and protect the rights, property, and safety of Run This, our users, and others; • comply with laws, regulations, legal processes, and law-enforcement requirements; and • optimize and improve our Services and send service announcements (for example, technical-issue notices) and notices about changes to our policies.
We will not use or share the personally identifiable information you provide in ways unrelated to those described in this Privacy Policy without giving you an opportunity to opt out or otherwise prohibit such unrelated uses.
Data Security
Our goal is to protect the personally identifiable information you provide in the course of using our Services. We have put in place physical, administrative, and technical procedures reasonably designed to safeguard and secure the information we collect. However, despite our efforts, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
De-personalized Data
We may aggregate information we maintain with information about other individuals in a manner that does not disclose information specific to an individual, and/or remove characteristics that would otherwise be personally identifying. In either case we are de-personalizing the information. Unless otherwise required by law, de-personalized information is not bound by the terms of this Privacy Policy. Run This will comply with all applicable laws governing the collection, use, and disclosure of personally identifiable information.
Data From Our Prior Platform
Run This previously operated on a different technology platform. When we moved to the current platform, we carried over existing accounts and records — profiles, event registrations, results, trophies, follows, and similar history — so that nothing our users and Event Organizations had built was lost. If you had a Run This account on the prior platform, your information exists here even if you have not yet signed in on the new platform; the first time you sign in you will be asked to set a new password (we never had access to your old one). Your marketing email preferences from the prior platform were carried over. If you would like your carried-over account deleted, contact us or use the in-app deletion flow after signing in.
Data Retention and Account Deletion
You can delete your Run This account at any time from your account settings. When you request deletion, we disable your account and, after a 30-day recovery window (during which signing back in cancels the deletion), we permanently remove or anonymize your account and profile identity — including your login, username, profile details, bio, your saved bookmarks, the profile and header photos you uploaded, and your follow and block connections — and we anonymize the posts and comments you created across the app (the feed, and clubs, communities, and event pages) so they appear as from a “deleted user” rather than you. We also stop sending you marketing messages. Direct, group, and club chat messages you sent may remain in those conversations for the other participants’ records, but appear as from a “deleted user”, and photos or videos you contributed to an event’s public gallery remain part of that event’s page; contact us if you would like help removing specific content.
Because Run This is also a registration and payment platform, deleting your account does NOT delete the records of events you registered for. Your event registrations — including the name, email address, and other details captured at the time you registered, along with waiver acknowledgements, payment and refund records, and results — are transaction records that the Event Organizations and Run This retain. We retain them for legitimate business, accounting, tax, dispute-resolution, legal, and safety reasons, and they are no longer linked to a Run This account. Past results may remain part of the public record of a competition under the name used to enter; you may contact us to request name removal from results.
If you have obligations in progress — for example, you are an organizer with live events, you have pending payouts or an affiliate balance, or you have an unresolved refund — we may ask you to resolve those before completing deletion. You may separately contact an Event Organization about records it holds, but safety, legal, financial, and tax records may be retained as permitted or required by law.
Where an Event Organization sells registrations through its own connected store, that store's e-commerce platform can relay deletion instructions to us, and we act on them automatically: if the organization disconnects its store, we delete the store's access credentials, and when the platform later sends its deletion instruction for the store we also delete the order information we received from it, including purchaser names and email addresses. The platform can relay the same kind of deletion request on behalf of an individual customer, and we honor those the same way. Completed registrations remain subject to the retention described above: they are the athlete's own transaction record with the Event Organization.
Edited posts. When you edit a post, we keep the earlier wording for 90 days so our team can review reports about it, then it is deleted automatically. Only Run This can see it. It is also deleted if you delete your account.
Post photos. Photos you add to a post are stored with the post and shown wherever the post appears. When you delete a post, the post and its photos are removed from Run This.
Race documents and sheets. Documents and sheets belong to the event, so if you delete your account they stay for its other directors: the ones you owned go to the event’s lead director, and your name on them, on their earlier versions and on your comments becomes “Deleted user”. Files you uploaded to an event stay with the event in the same way. Everything in My files and your saved document and sheet templates are deleted with your account, and so are the records of which documents you last opened and your email photo library list (photos already used in an event’s emails stay with those emails).
Club dues and club store orders. If you delete your account, automatic renewal of any club dues stops, your saved card and the customer record with the payment processor are deleted, and your name on the club's dues records and on your store orders becomes "Deleted user"; your email address is removed from those orders. The payment and order records themselves are kept as the club's transaction records. An order you placed without an account is not linked to your account and is kept as it was.

Your Privacy Rights and Choices
You can access and maintain your Personal Information by editing your profile after signing in, and you can update or correct it there. You may not update your profile with another person’s Personal Information to “transfer” your profile to another individual.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under applicable laws — such as the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information, and to opt out of certain uses. You can opt out of marketing emails using the unsubscribe link in any marketing message or your notification preferences, manage push notifications in your settings, and delete your account as described above. To make a privacy request or ask a question, contact us at info@runthis.run from the email address associated with your account, and describe your request. We will respond consistent with applicable law.
Children’s Privacy and Safety
Run This is designed for general audiences, and accounts must be created by individuals who meet the minimum age required by applicable law and by the App Store and Google Play. We are committed to protecting the privacy and safety of young users, including in compliance with Google Play’s Child Safety Standards and applicable App Store requirements.
Children do not have their own Run This accounts. A parent or legal guardian — or an adult they have authorized, such as a team or group leader — can manage registrations for minors through our Dependents feature, so that children who cannot manage their own accounts are supervised. When someone adds a dependent, we ask them to confirm that they are the minor’s parent or legal guardian, or an adult authorized by them, and to consent to our collection and use of that dependent’s information to register them for events, and we record that confirmation. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children. If we become aware that a dependent was added without proper authorization, we will take prompt steps to remove the information. If you have any concerns about your child’s data on Run This, please contact us.
Links to Third-Party Sites
To provide you with increased value, we may include third-party links on our Site. These linked sites have separate and independent privacy policies. We do not control and have no responsibility or liability for the content and practices of these linked sites. We welcome feedback about these linked sites (including if a specific link does not work).
Club Pages, Membership Dues and Club Stores
A club on Run This can build its own page: writing, photos, a video, a schedule, links, sponsors and more. A club's page is public unless the club marks a section as members-only. A members-only section is shown only to that club's members (or, if the club chooses, only to members whose dues are paid); everyone else sees its heading or nothing at all.
Some clubs collect membership dues through Run This. If you pay dues, your payment is handled by our payment processor and goes to the club. If you choose to renew automatically, the payment processor saves your card and we charge it when your term ends, at the level's price at that time. We email you before each charge, and you can turn this off at any time on your membership page. We never see or store your full card number. We create a customer record with the payment processor to make these payments possible.
A club's owner and admins can see their paid members' names, membership level, status and paid-through date, and each payment. They cannot see your email address through dues. If a club uploads a list of its existing members, the email addresses on that list are held until the person signs in with that address, and are visible to that club's admins until then.
Some clubs sell items, such as shirts, through a club store, and you can buy without an account. When you place an order we keep your name, your email address, what you ordered and what you paid. The club's owner and admins can see your name and email address with your order, so they can hand it to you and reach you about it. Run This does not use a store order to add you to a club's email list.
A club may give out coupon codes. When you use one, we record that the code was used and what it took off. To enforce a "one per person" code we keep a one-way fingerprint of your account or email address with that record, not your name or the address itself.
Embedded Content in Articles and Club Pages
Some Run This articles include content embedded from another platform, such as a video or a shared activity map. When you open an article that contains one, your browser requests that content directly from the platform hosting it. That means the platform can see your IP address and may set its own cookies, even if you never press play. This happens under that platform's own privacy practices rather than ours, and we do not receive any information about you from it.
We allow embedded content only from a short, fixed list of video and activity-sharing platforms, and where a platform offers a privacy-preserving version of its embed, we use it. Articles without embedded content make no such request. If you would rather avoid this entirely, most browsers and content blockers can block third-party embeds.
A club's page can include a video from one of the same platforms. A club page video works differently: nothing is requested from the video platform until you press play. Until then you are shown only a still picture.
