Wise Owl Races started with the kind of conversations runners have on long runs: race ideas, overlooked parks, routes that would make great events, and formats we wished existed closer to home.
We wanted to build races that feel intentional. Trail relays that turn into all-day adventures. Camps that help people take the next step into ultra running. Courses that make the landscape feel like part of the experience instead of just a backdrop.
Every Wise Owl event also supports organizations connected to the preservation, maintenance, and protection of the land we run on. That part matters to us as much as the races themselves.
Trail Relay
Saturday, February 6, 2027 · 7:00 AM
Edwin Warner Park · Blue Trail · Nashville, TN
A sunrise-to-sunset trail relay built around looped laps, your own basecamp tent, and a long day of choosing to keep going. Run it solo or as a 4-person team.
Ultra Camp
Next edition to be announced
The Rez · Lancing, TN (Morgan County)
Three days. Two nights. Epic climbs. Epic recoveries. A high-volume, high-vibe trail running camp in the state park that hosts the Barkley Marathons.
Challenge worth taking on. We want runners to leave our events feeling like they pushed themselves somewhere meaningful and came out stronger on the other side.
Clear communication. Courses should be marked well. Information should be easy to find. Runners should never feel confused about what's happening.
Places worth exploring. We build races around trails, parks, and landscapes that make the experience feel connected to the land itself.
Welcoming community. Whether you're racing for the podium or trying something difficult for the first time, we want Wise Owl events to feel encouraging and shared.
